Crescent City Blues and BBQ Festival 2012

The annual (and free) Blues and BBQ Festival in New Orleans always offers a nice mix of local acts we (truly) could catch any day and a few surprising imports. This year, guitarist John Gaar did an fantastic job behind Miss Lavelle White, and Little Freddie King yet again kept baring his (left) sole to the audience—who wouldn’t want those hip-flexors? Clarence Carter won the male chauvinism award, lamenting that women (in his own audience) “talk back.” After almost 40 albums from a near 50-year career and five (or six?) marriages, he’d rather do most of the talking himself.
