Exhibit BE

If you haven’t had a chance to see Exhibit BE on the West Bank of New Orleans, it will be open again Saturday, 11/29 from noon to 4pm. Exhibit BE is a sprawling, block-wide street art project, masterminded by Brandan Odums, famous for his murals at the Florida Housing Project, which, because of the dilapidated state of the buildings and legal issues with HANO, were less than accessible.  This time the scene is the ruined apartment complex, De Gaulle Manor, just off the Crescent City Connection at 3010 Sandra Drive.  The exhibit is the result of a collaboration between a number of talented artists and transforms the apartment buildings, whose jail cell-like rooms wouldn’t be appealing under any circumstances short of homelessness, into an immersive river of color.
