Machine Head at HOB NOLA

Like many metal bands that have been around for a while, Machine Head has had a bit of personnel churn over the years. The lineup now includes only one original member, guitarist and vocalist Robb Flynn, after the departure of Adam Duce (tho Dave McClain, on drums, has been in the band since 1995, longer than some fans have been alive).  But you probably know all that.

Machine Head played at the New Orleans House of Blues on January 23, with no opening band.  To take some liberties with the box office’s answer when asked “why?”:  “Because the want to play all f-ing night.” And they did.

Having seen Machine Head many times in the past, the jaw-dropping show (again) was no surprise.  Here’s our recollection (click through for the full gallery, or check out the slideshow at the end):
